The 100 HOUR PROJECT
"Carson just accomplished what very few people would have even attempted, let alone finish successfully", according to Grammy-winning engineer, Kory Kruckenberg, of VU Recording Studios.
Carson explains, "I was looking for a way to stand out in the massive crowd of musicians, I really wanted to test myself as a musician/songwriter, to push creativity to the limit and hoped the magic would come. There was no procrastinating, because I had given myself 100 straight waking hours to write and record the entire album.
I have a feeling about this record. From the test marketing we did to select the single, we had trouble narrowing the hit down to one song, which I guess is a good problem to have.”
released 31 December 2012
Mastering: Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, The Shins).
Entertainment-Focus (London) "We hear a lot of new music here and it takes a lot to impress us these days. Every once in a while though we uncover a singer-songwriter who knocks our socks off and we can't wait to tell you all about them."
"Vintage, gritty, and soulful. (Carson) effortlessly blends the hook-driven melodies of Motown with the ruggedness of Creedence Clearwater Revival; a refined Joe Cocker. However you define him, it's incredibly difficult to ignore this Washington soul."
"Classic bluesy rock style with raw and demanding vocals. Fire's soulful voice, funky blues instrumentals, and contrasted harmonies make the perfect recipe for an infectious single. Punchy keyboards, funky bass, finely plucked guitar and a highly danceable tempo tie it all together."
